My parents texted all of us a few weeks ago saying they were paying to have everyone stay at a hotel in Sun Valley who wanted to come. We were in for sure! After booking things they notified them that they upgraded us to the Lodge. I had never been to this hotel and didn't know what I was getting into. What a pleasant surprise we had in store! The hotel was decked out for Christmas, and every room is a suite! Complete with the deepest bathtub I've ever seen. Thankfully the second floor had a big family room giving us a place for kids to play and adults to chat.
After getting all checked in we went to dinner at a pizza place in town. We ate and left quickly because Colby was losing his mind, but once we got him settled with the babysitter we all met at the outdoor pool and hot tub. It started snowing and felt absolutely magical with all the Christmas décor around us. After we had our fill of swimming we met up in the family room the rest of the night. Beckham passed out on one of the chairs while we enjoyed staying up late with the big kids playing hide and seek.
The next morning was kind of a free for all since the hotel didn't have breakfast. We headed into town for breakfast at the Kneadery. It had trophy animals all over the walls which the kids loved. Some had morning walks together, and I was able to time Colby's morning nap so I could walk with the group to grab a pastry around the corner with Logan. From there we basically waited around until check out time so we could get one final picture together at the iconic Sun Valley barn. We drove home as the snow began to fall. It was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season.
